This weekend saw Torrington's first Harvest festival run by the Co-Op. It was held in the pannier market in the centre of the town.A&J Opticians were asked to judge the lemon drizzle cake competition. James, his wife and daughter went to sample the best that Torrington has to offer.
After a clear winner and much debate on who was to come second and third, the award was placed by the cakes and the local 'Torrington Silver Band' played whilst we all enjoyed a cream tea at the market cafe and awaited the draw of the raffle....sadly despite having quite a few tickets it was fruitless for James!
We made the trophy from a pair of glasses mounted onto a spectacle side and a perspex block. The plaque was supplied by Torrington jewellers.
We hope to find out the name of the winner for our next blog, but in the meantime we would like to thank everyone for taking part this year and hope to see many more entrants next year!
